Help I think I'm obsessed !

I really do think I am obsessed with my seedlings and plants, to the point that they are the first things I look at in the morning, apart from the husband that is ! and that's before I have had my breakfast. I am not sure that this is a good thing, but I can't help myself. The seed trays are on the study windowsill, so as I raise the blind in the morning I have to inspect them, and then I usually turn the trays around as they keep going forward towards the light. (probably trying to escape my prodding !)

If that wasn't bad enough I have now taken to poking around in the vermiculite (very carefully ) to see if anything is happening underneath, and I got really excited this morning as I could see little Echinacea leaves (such teeny tiny little plants) just beginning to appear. Sixteen of them so far. Does anyone else do this I wonder ? or is it just me that's impatient ? Then I go and check the seedlings in the mini greenhouse. Then there's the ones on the kitchen windowsill !! HELP !
I dread to think what will happen when I sow the next lot, I don't think I will ever get my breakfast until lunchtime.
It's got to stop I don't want to be obsessed, or am I possessed ? So tomorrow I am going to have breakfast first and then do the seed round.

I don't have a plant photo today, I am posting instead a photo I took at "Mottisfont Abbey" last week of the beautiful Mosaic Angel there. She is stunning to see, the photo can't do her any justice.

One last thing, I just want to say a thank you to everyone who visits my blog and especially for the comments. Its so lovely to know that you are stopping by, just like friends calling in. I don't always get to answer the comments but I try too especially if it's a question. I also love visiting your blogs as often as I can.

Hi Mo:)
This is the place to hang out if you're obsessed with anything gardening-related...so relax, you are definitely not alone:)
I started some seeds myself in some peat pots with a little heating mat under them. I'm not 'obsessed' yet, as I just planted them yesterday...but I will be, quite soon:)
I bet you are excited about your grandchild's upcoming entrance into the world!! Hope you're doing well these days!

Well, this is a common disease! And thanks for the chuckle at how you've described your symptoms! Just think, when that baby is old enough, you can show him/her how to become obsessed too!

Oh Maureen, I know how it feels - every single seedling must be checked each day! I have managed to stop myself from photographing them each day though. And they're all so different - some tiny and fragile and others come through like brutes. Obsessed? Us? Surely not.

Hi and thanks for the comments. I am so glad that it's not just me. I'm afraid to say I didn't quite make it to having my breakfast before checking the seedlings, BUT, I did manage to hold out on checking the ones in the mini greenhouse, so there's hope for me yet.

JAN, I am very excited about the baby, not long now, my poor daughter-in-law is feeling tired, and heavy.

TESSA, yes I am so hoping she
(They know it's a girl) and little Bertie (16 months) are going to be helping out on the allotment one day. I have in fact bought Bertie some tiny tools in a sale from Asda, I can't wait to buy him a wee wheelbarrow !

PAM, you are so right they do all come through differently, some raring to go and others straggling along and I swear I had two "Albino" Dahlias, honest !! they had hardly any colour, so I am sad to say and a little guilty, I threw them out. oh I know I should have seen what they turned out like, but too late they have gone.

Hello, Just found you after your mention of the angel - I've only really looked at the rose gardens, because we were short of time and I'm a rose-obsessive, is she in there? What a jolly and useful blog, I will come back here :)

- and PS I need to join SWAG too ;)

I have to admit that I check on my seedlings every morning, afternoon and night! It makes me feel that spring will soon come.

As long as the seedlings are not kipping in your bed and your husband in the greenhouse you are not obsessed Maureen :) I have the same habits too. Also whenever we come back from a holiday I go slowly round the garden before I come into the house. Do you do that too ?

CARRIE, that's a very inventive name for us all, it seems by all the comments we'd have a lot of members.

EB, what a shame you didn't have more time at Mottisfont. She isn't in the Rose garden, she is under the stairs to the house tucked away in the corner, you must go back and find her as she is really wonderful.

ANNA, I'm glad you do that as well, and yes I confess to checking out the garden first when I get back from holiday.

DEBBIE, welcome to the Obsessed society !!
