A lovely day out

I still haven't put those broad beans in their prepared bed at the allotment ! yesterday was spent weeding the garden at home and generally tidying up and moving a few plants around.

Today we fancied a break from gardening and the allotment, so we took ourselves off for the day the sky was blue when we started off just after lunch

We saw lots of daffodils
Camellias
 Magnolias

And the world was a beautiful place to be.

By the time we got home though it had started to rain and judging by the puddles in our garden we had had quite a downpour whilst we were out. Ah well ! we had a lovely day, tomorrow perhaps the broad beans will get planted !

100 Followers  YAY !!
I can remember the day I got my first follower, I was amazed and delighted and now today the total reached 100 ! amazing ! So very soon I am going to do a giveaway to celebrate the 100 mark. Watch this space as I think you will like it.

Congratulations Maureen on your 100th follower! Your blog is always a pleasure to read and I've particularly enjoyed your stunning photos in this post. I hope you get your beans in tomorrow; the forecast isn't good but I'm also hoping for a gardening day. Carolyn x

Some lovely pics there. We took a trip at the weekend and it seemed like the whole world had turned into a hugh daffodil garden, they were everywhere and looked beautiful. :)

Mo, those photos are superb! I particularly like the close-ups. Where was it you went?
Well done on achieving the 100 followers mark too - though I suspect you get lots more people who look at your blog without formally following you.

I see that you are enjoying springtime, Doc.

Next weekend, my garden will be fully planted. My summer squash, beans (bush and pole), carrots, and fresh batch of red lettuce are up. My watermelon and winter squash seeds are slow to germinate... maybe by the weekend.

I'm trying to grow some cedar trees to protect the garden from the punishing coastal winter winds. It will take a few years, but I think it's a good idea.

P.S. You asked about my Japanese radish -

Glad that you enjoyed a trip out Maureen. It was a lovely afternoon here too. Those broad beans will wait. Congratulations on your 100th follower :) I think that you and I became members of Blotanical in the same week, so I regard your blog as an old friend :)

Hi Prospero, Yes at last we have spring, although it rained all day today, so my beans are still not in !!! you sound very busy. I did look up Jiaogulan (good old google) and it sound like a real super food, although apparently can have adverse side effects on some people.

Tomorrow's another day, I'm sick of the sight of broad beans seeds after planting so many yesterday!

ANNA we go back a way that's for sure and it's lovely to have you as an old friend ( not old old !)

DAMO, tomorrow it will have to be as I didn't get them planted as it rained. I bet yours look great.

Hi Mo; Replying to your earlier comment on my blog... Yes, I have been to Hinton Ampner (we are also members of NT). I am particularly interested in the place because of its significance during the English Civil War. I seem to remember it served as the HQ of one of the parties at the time of the battle of Cheriton...
