A Post to welcome in 2010

I intended to do a post on the 1st day of the new year but never got around to it, so this is to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

I just visited 'A brush with color' her blog is lovely and she has added a brilliant version of Auld Lang Syne to her post from YouTube. I don't know how to add it to a post so I have put it on my side bar, top right, please click on it to hear it as it's really nice.

I have nothing to report from the allotment or garden as it's all frozen and too flippin cold to venture out. I don't usually feel the cold and I'm well known for not wearing a coat in the winter, a thick cardigan is usually enough for me, but this year I'm not sure what's going on as I'm wearing, scarf, hat & gloves and still freezing.

I have been looking back over my old posts and it's hard to believe that the allotment and garden will be productive and look beautiful again, this winter has seemed so long. I did have a quick look around the garden on my way to put some bread out for the birds today and I saw little buds on my two blueberry bushes, it was a lovely sight, I hope to have a real bumper harvest this year.

I am going to try and do a post every couple of days and really look for the positive aspects of this weather, I need to get out there with the camera.

Hi Maureen, that was a lovely rendition of Auld Lang Syne.

Yes the winter does seem very long doesn't it but like you I am starting to see signs of spring, with daffodil leaf tips starting to break the soil in my garden.

And it is so cold, I can't think of anything in the garden that needs doing urgently enough to get me out there. So I am also forlonly staying inside as well.

Happy New Year, Doc. I see the broad beans on your window sill and concomitantly hear the gentle song of spring in the distance. I sincerely hope that 2010 will be a good year for you, your family and the allotment. The joy of the garden is permanent once it has installed itself in one's hands. Your blog always reminds me of this and I am grateful to you for being around.

What a beautiful accent on the recording! It just melts your heart.

Happy New Year Maureen - hope it's a good one for years. I have not been to the lottie for ages but the seeds have appeared on the shelves in Wilkos. Something to get excited about:)

Hi KELLA, oh it's so nice to hear from blogging friends, we had lots more snow today and it's very cold isn't it ? stay warm for now and it will soon be spring. I hope the coming year brings you and your lovely family Lot's of Happiness.

PROSPERO, where have you been ? your followers were worried about you. Happy New Year to you too. Sadly the Broad Beans in the header photo are from last year, I put it there to remind me of whats to come. I will however be planting my beans in a week or so, and it wont be long before they look like that.
The lovely voice in the song belongs to Scottish singer Mairi Campbell. good to have you back.

ANNA, Happy New Year to you too. It's not worth going to the lottie is it ? nothing can be done when the ground is frozen, better to stay in the warm. Thanks for reminding me about 'Wilko's' I must venture out and have a look.

Happy New Year, Maureen. I haven't ventured outside at all since before Christmas. Unfortunately, I've had the dreaded flu. I'm hoping that the rest of 2010 picks up to be better than how it's started.
