Flowers for free, who needs a florist ?

I have been feeling very weary over the last few days. I am half expecting to come down with something, I am so used to having bags of energy, so I hate not feeling 100%,, anyway ! I only told you that because I haven't really done much at the lottie these last few days. I probably overdid it on Saturday up there (6 hours) and keeping up a large garden as well doesn't help energy levels.
So I am just going to post some photo's of the first decent bunch of flowers picked from the garden this morning. They cheered me up, especially as they were free.

In the 'tete a tete' vase there is three different violas. In the glass vase there are Cerinthe, Cornflowers, Aqualigia, Spirea, and another bit of shrubbery.

Two close up shots of the flowers.

Close up shot of the Cerinthe.

A perfect bouquet for the mantelpiece

They look very pretty. I can admire the big blue ones in other people's blog but the plants look so coarse in our garden that I resent them a bit. It's not that we have an especially fine garden, but they're always swamping their neighbours and chucking their weight around!

Love the array of purples in your spring bouquets!

Well, now that I'm all cheered up with these flowers, we'll have to work on you. I'm sending some good vibes your way and hopefully you'll pull through!

Thanks about the parsnips info. There out of the question for me since we haven't had frost here since Juan de Bermudez discovered these islands. But your winter soup sounds delish.

Please take care of yourself.

I do hope you are not coming down with something and you feel better soon! You probably have been overdoing it (this is the pot calling the kettle black, as this is the busiest time in the garden). All your hard work is really paying off though. The cut flowers are lovely!

Take care of yourself!

Hope you're feeling a little better.

Your flowers look gorgeous. I can't bear to cut flowers in the garden though, that's why I've created a flower patch at the allotment. I won't mind cutting those so much.

EMILY & RYAN, thanks you for the comments, I love purples & blues.

PROSPERO, thank you for the good vibes, your comment cheered me up.

PAM, thank you as well for your message & you are right it is a busy time, and easy to overdo it.

ANNA, thank you, I hope I will have my va va vroom ! (I like that!) back soon.

JO, Thanks for your comment. I know what you mean by not wanting to cut flowers from the garden, but this year I am trying to grow plants that I can cut.that will produce more blooms again and again after cutting. I have done this at the allotment as well.

Oh, Maureen they are just beautiful! Sorry I still haven't posted a picture of my cerinthe but will definitely do so over the next couple of days. That bunch of flowers would grace any table.

Hi I Just stumbled over your blog for the second time in as many months and I'm happy that I did as I was a bit miffed that I couldn't find it. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well your flowers look lovely. I'm like Jo I also find it hard to pick the flowers in my garden but unlike you lucky peeps I only have my garden.

Hopefully the lotty waiting lis will be kind to me :).

Hi KELLA, I am glad you found my blog again. I had a quick look at your blog and will return there when I get back from my son's on Saturday.
I hope you soon get an allotment. I waited 9 months which seemed like forever. I have had it 15 months now and can't imagine life without it. I do have a large garden as well so sometimes it does get difficult to maintain both.

Thanks Maureen for checking out my blog. My garden is not on the small side and provides quite alot to eat if I plan properly but I would like the opportunity to grow enough to store some veg over the winter and this is where an allotment will certainly help. Enjoy your visit with your son, keep well.

The dreaded lurgie seems to be sweeping Australia at the moment Maureen - you can blame us if you want, even though there is the slight issue of distance! Hope you are feeling better soon & those pretty flowers will no doubt help - they are just gorgeous.

Hi Maureen
Hope you didn't get the lurgy after all. YS was sitting on my knee earlier when I was reading your post and he recognised some of the flowers in our garden. We got his scissors , went outside and created our own for Grandma - so thanks for the inspiration. We had a great time. I'll put a picture on my blog when I get some time.
Once again best wishes.

ALI, the flowers were rather cheery, and I can't wait for all my dahlias to flower so I can cut them. Like you I do overdo the Veg growing & gardening. I must learn to relax!

MILLIE, I hope you don't catch any of the bugs going round over there down under! I don't appear to have any cold symptoms, but still feel tired, just overdone it I think.

ALLOT OF VEG I thought that was so sweet of your little one wanting to pick flowers for his grandma, I would love to see a photo of his little bouquet when you post one. Your sweetcorn looks great by the way.

Thank you all for the comments they cheered me up more than the flowers. x
