We visited the Carshalton Lavender farm open day on Saturday and it was a good day for it. The sun was shining, the bees were buzzing and the lavender smelt heavenly. But the highlight of the day after picking some lavender from the fields was meeting a dear blogger friend
Ali who's allotment backs onto the lavender fields. Ali's was one of the first allotment blogs I ever visited and we have kept in contact ever since. She and her husband Ian are delightful and we felt like we had known them for ages. We visited her plot and it is immaculately kept and looked exactly like the photo's on her blog. Here are a few photo's of our meeting.

Maureen, It must be heavenly to live next to those beautiful lavender fields! How lovely you were able to meet up with a fellow blogger! I am glad you had such a perfect day. Thanks so much for your advice about the powdery mildew ... I'm sorry I sounded so panicky. Have a great week. Pam x
What a fun day! I don't think I've been to her blog. I'll have to check it out.
It really does look perfect! And how lovely to meet a blogger friend - something I look forward to doing some day soon.

Sounds as if you had a grand day out Maureen :)
Sounds like you had a great day out, its nice to meet cyber friends in the flesh, we've made some firm friends from our gardening forums and blogs!
WOW you were here in Carshalton! So brilliant to see your report, and great that you had such a good day. I have to agree that Ali's plot looks brilliant at the moment.
Hello my friend!
Thanks for typing such a lovely post.
It was FANTASTIC to meet you and your lovely husband Austin.
The photo's look really good!
I am so glad that we finally met after all this time and will be sure to meet up again soon. XXXX
Looks like you had a great day out!
Thanks everyone for the comments, it was a lovely day, and meeting a blogger friend is such a good experience.
REAP WHAT YOU GROW, I forgot that you are on the same allotments as ALI, perhaps next time I will get to meet you as well, you are both so lucky to be near those lovely fields.
How lovely to see you were at the Lavender harvest. I was there on the Sunday, and bought lots of lavender.
Looking at the photos reminds me of the fabulous smell. We went there today and all the purple was gone.
REAP WHAT YOU GROW, thanks for the comment. What a shame all the lovely blue has gone now. Have you dried all your Lavender ? and what do you use it for ? pot pouri perhaps or lavender bags ??
