The weather has been like summer this week, and I have been working hard in the garden and have actually taken some time to relax out there as well.
Having painted the garden shed and the summerhouse last year I now need to think about the garden furniture. The two benches are fine, but our little bistro table and chairs for two isn't really suitable for larger family / friend gatherings so I have been looking around for something larger and it has to be hard wearing. I have searched online and found some really There are some lovely designs and something to suit all tastes.
I love wooden garden furniture. I know it has to be maintained but it's not a job that needs doing every year and I think for me anyway it's worth it.
I want something that is easy to look after and within my budget. My little bistro set folds and tucks away during the winter months, but I realise that something larger will have to stay outside all year round, so I will make sure to cover it well as I would want it to last for a long time. Now I just have to make a decision on what type of garden furniture will suit our garden and fit the space available. Decisions ! Decisions !! Luckily there are lots to choose from.

I'm pulling our furniture out of the shed this weekend - they need a good lick of paint first but should be ready to go for the first BBQ of the season in no time. And I agree about going wooden - it's SO much nicer than either plastic (cheap) or metal (cold).
Hi Tanya, thanks for the comment. I think when the garden furniture comes out or is uncovered it feels that summer is around the corner. I really need a larger table for family gatherings. I have plenty of director chairs which are usefull as they fold up.

Hi Anonymous, I know what you mean, but with all the crazy weather around the world I don't think we can ever be assured of typical seasonal weather any more. I think we have to make the best of what we get and enjoy it when it's good.
I've got a real mix of furniture - metal and wood, modern and retro. I do love the feel of the wood more though. Happy shopping!

Hi Pam, like you I have a variety of different garden furniture, i don't have any metal though apart from an old table with metal scrolled legs and a mosaic top which is in a corner with all my herbs on. It's to worn out to actually use.
My little bistro set is a favourite as it's painted a creamy white, and looks quite French, and best of all fold almost flat for storage. I really want a larger table though for when we have a gathering of the clan. We must make that London date soon (can't believe it's April tomorrow)

Thanks Anna, I was sitting out this afternoon, such a lovely day here. I wasn't entirely relaxing though as I was potting on seedlings. I can't say I enjoy that job, but it has to be done. I hope your weekend was good.
We got a lovely big table outside - my hubby made it about 18 years ago and it still going strong. Though the bench to goes with it had some repairs done last week so that it can withstand us all sitting on it all summer long. Though they both need staining.
