Rain stopped play today ! it stopped me playing in my garden and on the allotment, never mind we had a lovely time this afternoon/evening at a friend and his wife's combined birthday 'Hog roast' party.
They hired a local butcher to cook the hog over the fire, we were not expecting to see the whole pig though, head and everything. It was a bit startling, but I waited until the chef had cut it all up before venturing up for my food. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it.
I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like tomorrow, but I need to get some weeding and cutting back on various things at the lottie as it's all looking a bit overgrown, speaking of which ! the council didn't send anyone to strim the three plots around me ( well that's a surprise !!!) so I will have to make another phone call on Monday. Perhaps if I pester them they may do it just to keep me quite.
I hope you enjoy these photo's taken at Hampton Court.

I guess the only problem with Hampton Court is that you'd spend all your money (and time) there. I love all the ornaments (the winged dragon by the pond), the flowers...
The ARE WE IN ENGLAND is good. It doesn't look like Bermuda either, but maybe French Polynesia (like I know what I'm talking about). Good luck with the weeds, and make those phone calls, Maureen.
Enjoyed the photos of Hampton Court Maureen. I liked your comment 'Wish I had bought one".Now where have I heard that before ?:) Hope that the weather is co-operative and that you make it to the lottie today. Some ominous grey clouds here and I am not venturing out just yet.
Great Maureen more I had missed.
It certainly looks like you enjoyed your visit, Maureen. You had good weather too, which always makes it more enjoyable.
I too love all the quirky odds 'n' sods on the stalls.
There's always something which you wish you had bought once you get home.
Thank you for the comments.

I did actually get to the lottie today and pulled up the remains of the broad been plants, now I have to pod them (I hate that job) and freeze them.
Gosh what gorgeous photos from Hampton Court. I think you are right about the Leucanthemums. They are also known as Shasta daisies, and one man bred many of the varieties apparently.
They just look very 'of the moment' and I have kind of no idea why. Must be the herd mentality, because now I want one as well.
And WOW, I am completely in awe of your lily. I must ask you what variety it is, so I can look in my Plant Finder?
ReapWhatYouGrow, Thanks for the comments, I hope you get your 'shasta daisy' they look brilliant in a clump and apparently they soon grow into one, just like Lilies do.
Speaking of which, I am sorry to say I don't know the name of the Lilly, I wish I did as I regret not buying one now. If I see one about as I go to RHS wisley a lot, I will let you know what it's called.
